Great Tasting, fair food should not be an elitist experience its should be everyone's right.
After all these years in business, I still make everything myself.
Amoul’s is an independent business that opened its doors to the public in July 2003. The shared dinning table is central to the feel of home, where customers enjoy what I have cooked for them. Cooking for me is a great love and pleasure and I like to feel that Amoul’s is an extension of my home.
I am a mother first and foremost; when my children were born I had the luxury and pleasure to stay at home and raise them. I believe that food and love are two essential forms of nourishment that are crucial for building healthy societies, both physically and mentally. To some people this might be a simplistic approach, but Amoul’s was built on these two beliefs, they are the main threads that go through the whole weave that makes this place feel like home to our treasured customers who understand the concept and appreciate it.
I knew there was a market for good honest homemade food. Food prepared fresh every day and from scratch, using no additives, using only the best ingredients sourced locally, free range British meat from the butcher and vegetables delivered daily from the market.
I come from Marjeoune in the south of Lebanon, so my recipes originated from my home, having a British husband with an Italian mum, opened my eyes to different cultures, living in this country for over 25 years also introduced me to a wider spectrum of recipes which I constantly experiment with. So the food at Amoul’s is a mixture of all these different cultures that left their mark on my mind and in my heart.
Preserving culinary traditions is a way of preserving our culture. Food for me is an important human need that unites people together, food is a defining factor of our identity, of the people we are and where we came from.
Food prepared with love served with wine.
Amoul sourced a list of Lebanese wines that compliment her food. The menu changes daily.

Amoul - Some Family Recipes
Amoul's first cookbook is being sold now in the restaurant, after taking almost six years to complete. It is a journal introducing Amoul the person and the principles that led to starting Amoul the place, as well as documenting 52 of her favourite recipes. It is a hardback made up of 162 pages, self published and printed in Dubai.
The book costs £30.
The book is a real family affair. Designed by Tania, Amoul's daughter in law and project managed by Ziad, Amoul's second child. Jad, Amoul's youngest child took all the photographs of the food in the book, whilst Zeina, Amoul's eldest produced illustrations. Amoul's husband, Leslie published the book and it's being sold in Books for Cooks,in Notting Hill, as well as the restaurant.
