Home cooking recites a story of emotions and memory…

Home cooking recites a story of emotions and memory, it connects us to a time and place in the past. Cooking and sharing recipes and their stories with you has always been an act of memory for me. One of these memories is the preparation of the Mouneh. The word Mouneh comes from the word Mana, meaning “storing”. It is a form of home processing fresh and seasonal produce for further use. The idea of the Mouneh evokes so many feelings and emotions, home, security, tradition, nourishment and maternal instinct.

The Lebanese Mouneh’s most essential products are the Labneh and the Za’taar. I started working on producing the Goats Labneh over three years ago. It was a long process of research trying to find the right farm to supply me with fresh goats milk, after a lot of testing Amoul’s goats Labneh was born. Goats milk market has seen a huge growth recently due to its probiotic qualities, and its good source of protein, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals.

Goats Labneh in oil is for people who want to eat well , but really don’t have the time to prepare a good meal. It’s a ready meal in a jar. Toast a piece of bread and spread your Labneh add any vegetable you like, avocado, tomatoes, cucumber, mint , and maybe a sprinkle of Zataar. Preparing a wrap with Labneh and boiled eggs for lunch at your ‘al desko’ lunch is a nourishing and delicious meal. Despite the tendency for millennials to eat breakfast on the go, they still want speed and convenience balanced with health conscious trends. Labneh has many new usages, can be crumbled over salads and main dishes. It is also great with scrambled eggs, and by mixing it with an onion and some mint leaves then stuffing it in home made pastry.

Labneh is also the food of choice for brunch for a new generation, it brings a mediterranean provenance to the brunch table. Amoul’s goats Labneh is an interesting brand associated with a part of the world which heads on healthy eating and living and with people who live long and active lives.

Amoul’s goats Labneh is fresh not processed cheese. It has a mild, creamy and tangy taste. Always made to order!
